Read about a day in the life of an emergency locksmith...

UPVC door problem in Poole sorted, customer could not open their door this morning, so called me to have a look.

Managed to open the door, find the problem and gave the customer a price to sort it.

The customer decided to ring around a few other locksmiths from hello pages to find that my price was by far the cheapest out of the three others he called. I asked him who he called to find out he called the National call centre companies, one even stating to him that they were the cheapest around so no need to call other locksmiths.

Funnily enough, there labour alone was nearly as much as what I quoted, so I got the job and all was sorted within 2 hours of his original call.

Another UPVC door was stiff to close and lock, so off I trot to take a look, this time in Bournemouth. Doors had dropped slightly and mechanism badly needed lubricating.

So doors adjusted (French doors) and mechanism well lubricated so now the customer and his good lady can easily lock their French doors.

Another in Poole where customer had been calling around for prices to change a UPVC door cylinder, he never told me what prices he had been given already but he called me back 20 minutes later for me to go and change it as he said I was by far the cheapest.

UPVC window not working now has just come in, again in Poole, so shortly off to take a look at this problem with view to sorting it out.

All in all a good day today, roll on tomorrow.
